The potential of metal halide perovskites for the next generation of efficient solar cells is now well recognized, and PerTPV’s objectives are set to make it real. It is less known that perovskites, being high quality semiconductors, are also excellent light emitters, likely to play a role in future HDR displays. This potential was identified by the team in Oxford which recently launched a start-up company to develop materials for these applications. This initiative builds up on the expertise developed in projects including PerTPV, and namedBernard Wenger, who played a leading role in the management of PerTPV, in a senior leadership position at Helio Display Materials.
